5Quotes introduces you to developers. It does not build anything, and it is not part of whatever you agree with them afterwards.
What 5Quotes is
5Quotes is an introduction service. You describe a project, and developers who work in that area can ask to contact you. That is the whole of what we do.
We are not a developer, a contractor, an agent or a broker. We do not quote, build, manage or deliver any project, and we take no part in what you and a developer agree between yourselves.
Any agreement is between you and the developer
Once you approve a developer, everything that follows — scope, price, timeline, contract, payment, intellectual property, warranties and disputes — is between the two of you.
5Quotes is not a party to that agreement, does not hold your money, and cannot enforce it for either side.
What we do and do not check
We review developers before approving them on the platform and remove those who behave badly. That is a filter, not a guarantee.
We do not verify every claim a developer makes about their skills, insurance, capacity or past work, and we do not endorse or recommend any of them. Check references, ask for proof, and take your own advice before you commit to anything.
No promise of quotes or outcomes
We cannot promise that any developer will respond to your project, that responses will suit you, or that any price you are given is accurate or achievable.
Estimates given through the platform are indicative. Only a quote you receive directly from a developer, in their own terms, means anything.
What you agree to
Describe your project honestly and keep your contact details current. Do not post anything unlawful, misleading, confidential to someone else, or that infringes another party's rights.
Do not use the platform to harvest contact details, to send marketing, or to approach buyers who have not approved you. We may suspend or remove any account that does.
Your information
Your name, email address and phone number stay hidden until you approve a developer. Files and links you mark as part of your tender pack are released at the same moment, and access is withdrawn if you decline a developer or close the project.
How we handle your information is set out in the privacy policy.
Cost
Posting a project, reading responses and choosing who to speak to is free for buyers, and always will be.
Developers may pay to take part. That has no bearing on which projects they see or on the order responses are shown to you.
Liability
The service is provided as it stands. To the extent the law allows, 5Quotes is not liable for any loss arising from work done or not done by a developer you found here, from anything a developer tells you, or from the platform being unavailable.
Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law in New Zealand that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date below shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the update.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
